Wonham Oak

Nestling on the edge of woodland you might hear the sound of bird song, see deer or a rabbit scurrying by . . . One thing is certain: at Wonham Oak Cottages, you will find sanctuary from the stresses of everyday life.

Here in the idyllic heart of Mid-Devon, Grant and Veronica have created two eco- cottages, fully furnished with country comforts designed to cosset you, from sumptuous beds with organic linen to toasty-warm wood burners. And your conscience can rest easy as the cottages are served by our log boiler and solar panels, with minimal impact on the environment.

Designed with Access for All in mind, each cottage has its own garden and one is pet friendly. Organic produce is available from our smallholding and we are trying to get the hens to lay at the door but it might be a two-minute walk! Both cottages are suited to one or two people, with the option of a travel cot.

Once you are settled in, you can walk along the wooded Exe Valley or meander along the streams to one of the lovely local pubs. You might prefer to cycle, discover Exmoor, fly fish, take in a National Trust property or improve your golf handicap or . . . just curl up with book and gaze at the view.
